Community Partnership Report - Economic Development
As the largest publicly traded company based in Tucson, TEP is committed to helping our community thrive. That’s why we’ve worked so hard to support efforts to strengthen and expand our regional economy.
Promoting Tucson
TEP works with local government agencies and other Tucson-based companies to attract new, high-quality employers to the area.

We’ve lent significant support to Tucson Regional Economic Opportunities (TREO), the Tucson area's lead economic development agency. Funded by local governments and private businesses, TREO is tasked with attracting new companies and high-quality jobs to the Tucson area.
TEP sponsored TREO’s “Economic Blueprint,” a comprehensive report that identified the region’s strengths and outlined five areas of focus to bolster economic development. TEP also has directed staff with economic and accounting experience to help conduct research into local economic development ventures.
Steve Lynn, TEP’s Vice President of Communication and Government Relations, served as Interim President of TREO until the organization’s current director, Joe Snell, was hired in 2005. Snell said Lynn and other TEP officials serve as ambassadors to other companies and help "sell the virtues of the community."
Land Use Planning

As we plan for the demands of the future, TEP is helping local governments do the same.
TEP planners work with consultants to determine where and how Tucson will grow. We gather and analyze land-use plans from local municipalities and Pima County to identify growth patterns and determine where infrastructure will be needed. After investing significant resources in these efforts, we share the resulting data with local governments to support their own planning efforts.
