Teaching Materials
|
TEP provides materials dealing with electrical safety, electricity science, energy efficiency and our natural environment to grades K through 8 in all local school districts. Last year, our educational offerings reached more than 25,000 students throughout the Tucson area. More than 500 teachers requested educational materials about environmental and energy conservation.
Our commitment to educating young minds extends to a variety of teaching tools on our company Web sites. Students can play “Shock Blocker” to learn more about electric safety. Or they can visit the “Energy Efficient World” to learn about how to conserve energy. For a complete list of educational programs and services, click here. |

Tucson Children’s Museum
Originally installed in 1995, TEP’s hands-on exhibit at the Tucson Children’s Museum teaches visitors about electric safety, the history of electric power and the science behind their electric service. The exhibit has been updated periodically so that return visitors can learn new lessons.

Public Safety Campaigns

Springtime in Arizona is a great time for yard work, swimming and other outdoor activities. But it can also bring you into contact with overhead and underground power lines. That's why we run radio ads as a reminder that no matter what the activity, electrical safety should be part of the plan.
During the summer, powerful monsoon storms can flood roads and disrupt electric service throughout the Tucson area. Every year, before the season begins, TEP participates in a campaign to educate the public about navigating hazardous driving conditions, avoiding downed power lines and staying safe during an electrical outage. To share our public safety message, TEP works with the National Weather Service, the American Red Cross and other local businesses and public safety agencies. We communicate these important safety messages to the public through radio and T.V. commercials, advertising, bill inserts and media outreach.

Bill Inserts
TEP offers energy saving advice and other useful information on fliers mailed out with our bills. Recent bill inserts have reminded customers to watch for hidden power lines while tree-trimming and encouraged customers to contact TEP if they discovered bird nesting sites near utility poles.
