TEP Grants Program Makes $100k Available to Nonprofits, Celebrates 15th Year

Tucson, Ariz. — Tucson Electric Power (TEP) will award $100,000 to help nonprofit organizations improve our communities’ health and well-being during the 15th annual presentation of Grants That Make a Difference.

TEP’s competitive grants program has provided more than $1.2 million since 2001 to nonprofit organizations that improve the quality of life in TEP’s service territory and the White Mountains area around TEP’s Springerville Generating Station.

Application guidelines, forms and other details are available online at tep.com. All applications must be submitted online by July 31. To encourage early entries, eligible nonprofit organizations that submit completed applications by July 10 will be entered into a drawing for a $1,000 donation. Applications that are mailed or hand-delivered, or those with incomplete information, will not be considered for funding.

The Grants That Make a Difference program is designed to fund efficient, effective programs from fiscally sound organizations that produce measurable benefits. Preference is given to collaborative efforts that allow agencies to share resources and reduce service delivery costs. Grant requests may range from $2,500 to $10,000.

The grants are an important part of TEP’s award-winning community service efforts, which include direct contributions, in-kind services and volunteer support for local nonprofit groups. In 2014, TEP contributed more than $1 million to charitable causes while company employees joined their friends and family in contributing 25,000 volunteer hours to more than 260 nonprofit groups. All grants and contributions are funded from corporate resources, not customers’ rates.

Tucson Electric Power provides safe, reliable electric service to approximately 414,000 customers in southern Arizona. For more information about TEP’s community involvement and contributions, visit tep.com.
