Tucson Electric Power is taking its message of energy efficiency to the community with an outreach team that participates in events throughout the service territory.

We educate customers about TEP’s many energy efficiency programs such as discounts on shade trees and LED and CFL bulbs and rebates for qualifying ENERGY STAR ® air conditioners, variable-speed pool pumps and recycling old, inefficient refrigerators and freezers.

“We take part in a variety of community-based events because we are trying to reach as many customers as we can,” said Desiree Dillard, a TEP Energy Efficiency Program Coordinator.

All members of the outreach team are well-versed in TEP’s programs and energy-saving tips and can answer questions that customers may have.

“Typically, we will hand out complimentary CFLs and other giveaways, distribute brochures about energy efficiency and talk with people about ways they can reduce their energy use and save money,” Dillard said.

• Watershed Management Group’s Edible Shade Tree Event
• 4th Avenue Winter Street Fair
