Power Plant Tour

TEP reached out to business customers in a new way by hosting a breakfast event at the company headquarters and a tour of the local power plant.

At the Business Informational Experience, TEP employees shared ways that they can help and support commercial customers, including through energy-efficiency programs and new electric service installations.

Representatives from about 50 small- and medium-sized businesses were invited to the Oct. 17 event. TEP is hoping to hold similar educational events annually.

“We are your trusted energy partner,” said Cathy Ries, Vice President of Customer and Human Resources, at the event. “We want to help you grow your business. We’ll do our very best to serve your needs.”

During the event, participants listened to presentations about TEP’s offerings, including how Design and Construction Services makes it easy to expand service or install new lines. Another presentation highlighted Commercial Customer Care, which employs specialized Customer Service Representatives to assist businesses.

“When you’re successful, we’re successful and the community is successful,” said Carolina Villascuesa, Supervisor of Customer Care.

Participants also learned about TEP’s energy-efficiency programs that offer rebates and discounts on lighting and equipment, including a fall promotion for bigger savings on upgrades for businesses.

After presentations, guests boarded buses to go to TEP’s H. Wilson Sundt Generating Station for a tour.

Tori Robinson, Vice President and General Manager of the Southern Eastern Arizona Region for CEMEX, said he enjoyed interacting with TEP.

“When TEP says the customer is No. 1, they mean it,” Robinson said. “It’s actions not words. That’s what is just very impressive.”
