Public Invited to Resource Planning Workshop

Customers and other stakeholders are invited to join a resource planning workshop to learn more about the development of TEP’s 2023 Integrated Resource Plan (“IRP”).

The IRP will outline how TEP plans to meet anticipated energy needs over the next 15 years. This year’s plan will be our first update since our 2020 plan, which called for increasing investments in wind, solar and energy storage to achieve an 80 percent reduction in carbon dioxide emissions by 2035.

An IRP is developed in part by building hypothetical resource portfolios and then comparing their cost, emissions profile and other factors. During this meeting, TEP representatives will provide an overview of the planning process, identify several potential portfolios, answer questions and gather feedback.

Our final 2023 IRP will identify the energy mix we anticipate using to provide safe, reliable and affordable power to customers over the next 15 years. It will be filed with the Arizona Corporation Commission by Nov. 1, 2023.
