Tucson Electric Power will provide compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs), energy-efficient showerheads and low-flow faucet aerators for the kitchen and bath for every unit in your complex!

Participants in the program also will receive an evaluation of the complex common areas to determine if other energy efficiency opportunities are available.

Make community living more comfortable and affordable

The Multi-Family Housing Program offers free training and direct installation of energy efficiency products to TEP multi-family property owners and their tenants.

Multi-family units may be eligible for free CFL light bulbs, low-flow showerheads and kitchen and bathroom faucet aerators to help reduce energy costs.

The program also provides assessments of common areas for potential energy saving opportunities made available through TEP's Commercial Energy Solutions program.

Program eligibility

An eligibile multi-family housing complex consists of five or more units and receives electric service from TEP. The multi-family dwellings must be served by electric water heating to receive the low-flow showerheads and faucet aerators.

Why is TEP offering this program?

This program is designed to provide energy saving products to the tenants of multi-family housing complexes in an effort to help reduce their energy costs. The program also offers common area energy assessments to identify additional energy-saving opportunities for the complex.

What does the Multi-Family Housing program offer?

The program offers property owners and managers products such as CFLs, low-flow showerheads and faucet aerators for the kitchen and bathrooms that can be directly installed into their tenant’s residences.
The program will also evaluate the complex common areas and determine if other energy efficiency opportunities are available.

Who does the direct installation of the products?

The product installation is to be done by the multi-family housing facilities personnel. TEP will provide the products, training and field support to assist with the installation. TEP field support will also perform a pre-inspection to determine the quantity needed for your complex.

What is the cost to me for the energy efficient products and assessment of common areas?

The products and assessments are provided free of charge. The only cost to you is the facilities staff needed to perform the installations of the products.

Who is eligible?

All existing multi-family housing complexes and new construction projects within TEP's electric service territory with 5 or more dwelling units.

I am a tenant in a multi-family housing community and would like to participate, am I eligible?

This program is not offered directly to the tenants. The program is designed to work with the property owners and managers to promote energy efficiency in an entire complex. If a tenant displays interest in the program, TEP will contact the property owner or manager with information about the Multi-Family Housing program.
