Multi-Family Housing Program

Efficient and comfortable community living

TEP’s Multi-Family Housing program is designed to help owners and managers of multi-family complexes make their properties more efficient, saving them and their tenants energy and money while improving comfort.

Qualifying residential complexes can receive free low-flow water fixtures and LED light bulbs along with rebates for cooling and heating system upgrades.

Buildings with five or more units that have service with TEP and are not master metered qualify for this program. While individual renters are ineligible for this program, they are encouraged to contact their property owner or manager to request their participation in our Multi-Family Housing program.

Through TEP’s Commercial Energy Solutions program, we also help apartment complex owners identify other potential energy-saving opportunities by conducting a free evaluation of their common areas that may qualify for rebates.

Free Self-install Products

TEP offers free energy-efficient light bulbs, low-flow showerheads and faucet aerators at no cost to complexes with electric water heating for their installation. Complexes with gas water heating are eligible only for free energy efficient LED bulbs.

Rebates for HVAC Systems & Tune-ups

The air conditioner and heat pump account for the largest energy use of a typical family. You can improve cooling and heating efficiency and the comfort of your residents while saving money with the installation of a high efficiency HVAC system or HVAC tune-up.

TEP offers instant rebates for new ENERGY STAR® air conditioning and heat pump units that are purchased from and installed by one of our authorized Multi-Family Program contractors. They adhere to specific quality guidelines to ensure the proper installation and the best performance of your new HVAC system.

HVAC tune-ups and duct sealing are also available through this program for pre-qualified complexes where units are not individually owned.
