Generation of Less Than 20 MW (Connecting to Transmission)

Non-residential customers seeking to interconnect a small generating facility of less than 20 MW to a transmission line must submit an Interconnection Request Form (Attachment 2 of the Small Generator Interconnection Procedure (SGIP) to TEP along with the applicable processing fee or deposit.

WHAT YOU DO

 

WHAT TEP DOES

 

  • Acknowledge receipt of your application within 10 business days
  • Notifies you if the application is incomplete or there are deficiencies
  • Notifies you if your proposed Interconnection request meets eligibility requirements and what must be done to proceed to the Full Study Process
  • Within 15 days of the acknowledged receipt of your application, TEP will perform an initial review using screens described in section 2.2.1 of the SGIP

Select A Process

Your Small Generating Facility will follow one of three processes: Fast Track, 10 kW Inverter, or Full Study.

A request to interconnect a certified Small Generating Facility no larger than 2 MW will be evaluated under the Section 2 of the Fast Track Process (See Attachments 3 and 4 for description of certification criteria in SGIP).

A request to interconnect a certified inverter-based Small Generating Facility no larger than 10 kW shall be evaluated under the 10 kW Inverter Process (Attachment 5).

A request to interconnect a Small Generating Facility larger than 2 MW but less than 20 MW or a Small Generating Facility that qualifies for the Fast Track Process or the 10 kW Inverter Process will be evaluated by the Full Study Process (Section 3 of the SGIP).
