Making Megawatts Disappear
TEP’s energy efficiency programs have generated significant savings, reducing the need for investments in new power plants and other facilities.
This chart represents the cumulative energy savings from TEP's customer-funded energy efficiency programs. Many programs encourage efforts that save energy over many years, including rebates for energy efficient refrigerators or incentives that reduce the cost of compact fluorescent and LED bulbs. As TEP continues to roll out new programs, the benefits continue to stack up.
The energy savings achieved through these programs have allowed TEP to reduce regulated emissions from fossil-fueled power plants and avoid the production of nearly three-quarters of a million tons of carbon dioxide, the most prevalent greenhouse gas.
