Tucson Estates Substation
TEP plans to build a new 138 kilovolt (kV) substation west of Tucson to strengthen electric reliability for customers and meet growing energy needs in the area.
Through long-term planning studies, TEP has determined that new systems will be required to strengthen electric reliability and support residential and commercial development. The project will expand transmission capacity to serve customers’ growing energy needs west of Tucson while allowing for the retirement of aging 46-kilovolt (kV) substations and other equipment.
