6. Earn Incentives

Incentives

Earn bill credits for your performance

Payments will be provided as bill credits within 1-2 billing cycles after participation in an event. Credits will be calculated based on the average load reduction achieved during each event and combined into a single monthly payment for eligible events occurring that month.

Participation status, resets January 1 Pay-for-performance bill credit rate
Starting rate $4 per average kW delivered per event
After 6 events* $5 per average kW delivered per event
After 12 events* Premium Events, rate provided with event notice

* For event participation to count toward status changes, participants must deliver at least 80% of their accepted load reduction in the program.

  • Payments are capped at 120% of accepted load reduction potential.
  • The customer must remain a TEP customer to receive bill credits.
  • After 12 successful events each calendar year, participants may be invited to voluntary Premium Events.
  • Customers below 80% performance or opting out in any three events in a calendar year may be subject to removal.

Example earning opportunity

To demonstrate how your event compensation will be calculated, consider a fictional customer, as shown in the table, who committed to 500 kW of load reduction during DemandFlex events.

In this scenario, imagine the customer delivers 500 kW of load reduction on average for each of nine events. The customer earned $2,000 per event for the first six events, and then $2,500 for the next three events after graduating to the higher incentive tier.

Actual bill credits will depend on your event participation and verified performance.

Event Delivered Load Reduction (kW) Payment
1 500 $2,000
2 500 $2,000
3 500 $2,000
4 500 $2,000
5 500 $2,000
6 500 $2,000
7 500 $2,500
8 500 $2,500
9 500 $2,500
Total $19,500
