Storm Damage Restoration Efforts Expected to Continue Through Friday

TEP crews are working as quickly as possible to repair power lines following a severe storm Tuesday night that damaged 16 poles on South Kolb Road near East Escalante Road.

Service was restored to all residential customers by Wednesday evening after field crews installed temporary connections to an adjacent section of our local grid. Some commercial customers in the area will remain without service until repairs are complete.  TEP is asking residents in the area to continue conserving energy this week, particularly in the afternoon, to help limit strain on the grid in that area and avoid additional short term outages.

Customers can help conserve by:

  • Precooling their homes and setting the thermostat to 78 degrees
  • Avoid using large appliances
  • Use ceiling fans
  • Avoid using your pool pump until the evening

The affected area covers an area from South Kolb to Prudence roads, between Escalante and East Golf Links Road.

We take our responsibility for managing local energy supply very seriously and we know our customers are depending on us.

Customers in the affected area are advised to power their cell phones in advance and to follow our Outage Map or log into our mobile app for updates. During periods without service, customers should limit opening refrigerators and freezers.

We're also reaching out proactively to customers in the area who have reported use of medical devices through our Medical Device Alert program. Customers who rely on medical equipment that are not signed up for the program should contact TEP as soon as possible at 520-623-7711.
