Springerville Generating Station
TEP plans to convert Units 1 and 2 at the coal-fired Springerville Generating Station to operate on natural gas by 2030 to maintain reliable, affordable service and support local employment. The project will replace nearly 800 megawatts (MW) of retiring coal-fired capacity.

City of Tucson’s Municipalization Study Deeply Flawed
The initial draft of an energy study conducted for the City of Tucson, envisioning a hostile takeover of TEP’s energy system, is compromised by flawed assumptions about how much time and money would be needed to form a municipal utility. The study ignores factors that would increase Tucson’s energy costs, reduce reliability and slow our community’s progress to a cleaner energy future.

Second Year of Summer Bill Savings
Tucson Electric Power is reducing average residential bills by about $4 beginning April 1 thanks to a reduction in a surcharge that reflects recent energy costs. It’s the second year in a row that a change in this monthly surcharge benefits customers just before summer.
