Saguaro to Marana 115/138 Kilovolt Transmission Line Project

Tucson Electric Power (TEP) and Arizona Electric Power Cooperative (AEPCO) are planning new electrical infrastructure to serve the Town of Marana and surrounding area. The Saguaro to Marana 115/138- Kilovolt (kV) Transmission Line Project will strengthen electric reliability and add transmission capacity to serve customers’ growing energy needs.

The Arizona Power Plant & Transmission Line Siting Committee granted Arizona Electric Power Cooperative’s application for a certificate of environmental compatibility (CEC) in June 2022. The Arizona Corporation Commission voted in July 2022 to approve the order granting the CEC.

The unnamed TEP substation is planned to be in-service in 2026. This date may change depending upon energy demand within the project area.
