TEP often makes in-kind donations of equipment and services to local charities to support their work.

Just a few months ago, TEP donated four pre-owned Hewlett-Packard laptop computers to the Sahuarita Food Bank & Community Resource Center (SFB-CRC). The company also printed two multi-page, full-color brochures to support the group’s capital campaign, Nourishing Our Community.

The food bank’s $2.2 million capital campaign, launched in 2018, seeks funding to build a new 7,000-square-foot facility within the next three years to meet growing needs in the community. So far, the SFB-CRC has raised more than $1.3 million towards their goal.

The laptops are being used to make one-on-one presentations to prospective campaign donors and for classes held in the group’s Community Resource Center.

Says Curt Keim, Vice President of the SFB-CRC: “It’s imperative that we be able to professionally and effectively demonstrate the great need for this new facility to secure contributions and continue to address food insecurity in Southern Arizona and move people from insufficiency to self-sufficiency. The laptops and brochures are being put to good use and we’re deeply grateful to TEP for the donations.”
