TEP is making a donation to the MLK Scholarship Fund of the Pueblo Gardens Neighborhood Association in conjunction with a virtual breakfast on Jan. 15.
TEP’s $2,500 donation is part of our company’s philanthropic focus on efforts that promote racial and social equality in our community.
For a second year, TEP is sponsoring the Pueblo Gardens MLK Breakfast Virtual Event, which raises money for scholarships. The association requires students or classes – not adults – to write letters seeking funds for a variety of educational activities, ranging from art camp to musical instruments and class trips.
The breakfast, now in its 32nd year, is being conducted as a virtual event for a second time because of the pandemic. The event is in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, which is on Jan. 17.
The video will be available for streaming at the City of Tucson YouTube channel beginning at 9 a.m. Jan. 15. The video will remain available on demand for community members to access at their convenience. The link can also be found on the Ward 5 website/Facebook page and the Grace Temple website and Facebook page.
