TEP and our employee volunteers will help prepare students (and their parents) for the new school year by participating in the 5th Annual Badges and Backpacks event.
Hosted by the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, the event takes place from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday July 13 at the Tucson Convention Center.
This one-stop, back-to-school health and safety fair features free backpacks and school supplies, a safety station with fingerprinting and other safety information, health checks and educational activities.
Our volunteers will be giving out backpacks and supplies and assisting El Rio Community Health staff with health checks and other services. TEP’s financial sponsorship of El Rio’s participation in the event will ensure that kids go back to school healthy.
El Rio will provide free dental and vision screenings and review your child’s immunization records to make sure they are up to date. Families can also receive health care insurance assistance and get information about the importance of healthy eating, exercise and asthma management.
