TEP is strengthening its commitment to Downtown Tucson by supporting services that help businesses in the city’s urban center thrive.
We are contributing $61,000 to the Business Improvement District’s assessments, which funds services carried out by the Downtown Tucson Partnership.
Even though TEP’s headquarters reside outside of the district’s boundaries, TEP made the decision to invest in the downtown region where many of our employees work.

By contributing to the Downtown Tucson Partnership’s Business Improvement District, we’re helping build a cleaner, more welcoming Tucson and stronger pathways to opportunity for the businesses and neighbors who call downtown home,” said Steven Eddy, TEP’s Director of Public Affairs.
With its distinctive purple look, Downtown Tucson Partnership provides a variety of services centered in a 54-block area of downtown, including beautification, economic development, and safe initiatives, including Downtown Ambassadors, who are often referred to locally as the “purple people” because of their recognizable purple uniforms.
The Downtown Tucson Partnership (DTP) announced TEP’s contribution when the City Council approved the district’s assessments for the fiscal year that began July 1.
Teresa Bravo, TEP Senior Government Relations Representative, also serves on the board as an at-large director.
DTP leaders recognized TEP’s commitment as a sign of our continued investment in the city’s center and a shared vision for a clean, inviting and economically strong downtown core, according to a partnership press release.
DTP President and CEO Crystal Moore praised contributors, including TEP, for their collaboration.
“Their continued support allows us to invest in the services and initiatives that make Downtown Tucson a destination for residents, visitors, workers, and entrepreneurs alike,” Moore said.
