TEP is investing in public education with $70,000 in donations that will directly benefit local teachers and students.

Our “TEP Gives Back to Schools” campaign will fund mini-grants supporting programs, projects or lessons that promote student engagement and expand educational opportunities.

As the school year begins, TEP is presenting checks of $10,000 each to seven foundations that support local public school districts. While TEP has funded mini-grants before, we’re including more foundations this year to maximize the reach and impact of our investment.

“By partnering with local education foundations on these grants, we can make an immediate impact in classrooms throughout our community,” said MaryLynn St.Germaine, Manager of Community Investment. “We’re proud to  support the educators who are helping prepare the next generation of leaders, innovators and problem-solvers.”

The seven foundations are:

• Amphi Foundation
• Educational Enrichment Foundation, which supports Tucson Unified School District.
• Flowing Wells Educational Foundation
• Marana Schools’ 2340 Foundation
• Sahuarita Educational Enrichment Foundation
• Sunnyside Foundation
• Vail Foundation

These nonprofit foundations raise funds and provide support to students, teachers and leaders at public schools. TEP’s support will help them expand opportunities for teachers and students to enhance their futures and careers.

“The donation that TEP provides just shows what a pillar of support they are in the community, especially for public education,” said Megan George, Executive Director of the Amphi Foundation. “TEP is helping to provide instant, hands-on learning to students all across the Amphitheater School District.”

The campaign reflects TEP’s longstanding focus on education to invest in the next generation of employees and leaders, particularly in the areas of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).
