Tucson, Ariz. –Tucson Electric Power (TEP) is offering warm holiday wishes to the community by sponsoring the 76th Winterhaven Festival of Lights, a Tucson tradition that runs Dec. 13-27 from 6-10 p.m.

Hundreds of homeowners in the historic midtown Winterhaven neighborhood decorate their yards with lights and elaborate holiday displays to celebrate the season. More than 200,000 visitors attend the event annually.

As title sponsor, TEP’s annual contribution of $50,000 to the nonprofit group that organizes the festival helps to cover operational costs for security, traffic control, portable restrooms and trash removal. To put a little extra sparkle in this year’s event, TEP also provided new energy efficient LED lights to use for decorating neighborhood streets. The contributions are funded by corporate resources, not customers’ rates.

This week, bucket trucks normally used by TEP field employees to maintain and repair power lines will be used to help hang lights on the tallest neighborhood trees.

The festival provides critical support for the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona, which received more than $33,000 and 34,000 pounds of donated food from visitors in 2024. On select nights during the festival, TEP employee volunteers will collect cash and food contributions from visitors for the food bank.
